Spread the Love PB&J Drive

On March 9, 2017, Wesley Matthews, President of the Driven2Greatn3ss Foundation and Dallas Mavericks Guard, joined the City of Mesquite to kick-off the Spread the Love PB&J Drive. As part of Wesley’s foundation, in an effort to fight hunger, the collected peanut butter and jelly jars will help to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for children during the summer who rely on reduced or free lunches provided by their schools throughout the school year.

At the end of the rally, Wesley had one big surprise for the Spread the Love PB&J Drive. On behalf of Wesley’s Driven2Greatn3ss Foundation, Albertsons and Tom Thumb donated enough peanut butter and jelly jars to make 20,000 sandwiches. He encouraged people to donate as one jar of peanut butter feeds one child for three weeks. Wesley’s donation will help eliminate the barriers of children not having access to nutritious food which ultimately prevents them from succeeding.

Back 2 School

In August 2016, Wesley Matthews hosted 60 kids from Boys and Girls Club at a Dallas Academy Sports + Outdoors for a back to school shopping spree. Wesley and his Driven2Greatn3ss Foundation teamed up with Academy Sports + Outdoors to prepare children for the school year and to get them excited about learning. Each child received a $200 gift to use for purchasing new backpacks, shoes, school and athletic apparel, as well as other school necessities to prepare them for the new school year.
