Dallas – (December 8, 2016) – Dallas Maverick’s Wesley Matthews welcomed over 100 guests to the Hilton Dallas Park Cities hotel Thursday, December 8, 2016 for the first annual An Evening with Wesley Matthews, presented by Albertsons, raising more than $100,000 to benefit Wesley Matthews’ Driven2Greatn3ss Foundation.
Guests included the who’s who of the Dallas business community, Mavs staff and all of Wesley Matthew’s teammates.
In addition to mingling with their favorite players, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and three course, accompanied by fine wine.
“Funds raised tonight will change kids’ lives—they are our future and how can we know what they’re capable of if we don’t give them a chance?” said Matthews. “Driven2Greatn3ss is about giving Dallas kids the opportunity to succeed.”
Wesley Matthews’ Driven2Greatn3ss Foundation positively impacts the lives of low-income, single-parent families throughout Dallas by eliminating barriers that prevent children from succeeding. Proceeds from the evening will go toward funding programs in 2017, specifically Back2School and Driven to Drive Out Hunger. Back2School is a shopping event that helps prepare students to return to school with confidence. Driven to Drive Out Hunger aims to feed kids during school breaks, when they lose access to their school’s free and/or reduced school breakfast and lunch.
Mark Followill was the evening’s emcee, while Yve Rojas served as the evening’s auctioneer during exciting live auctions.
